Free plain double-cloth coverlet woven with bleached linen and indigo-dyed wool in two panels (each 41 in. wide) seamed down the middle with a whip stitch; a geometric block design in the "Blazing Star" pattern; "BLAZEING STAR / WESTBURY 1816” and “ELIZABETH SMITH / OCTOBER 8 1816” woven lengthwise in the warp; names and dates legible once from the predominantly light side of the coverlet, appearing multiple times in a distorted style along the top border.
