Watercolor, gouache, India ink, and lead pencil on beige paper depicting a view looking west down the LIRR tracks. Railroad tracks extend from midground left to foreground right, intersects perpendicularly with dirt road in center; two men with hunting rifles walk from left foreground towards center foreground, dog trots in front of them; man and woman with backs to the audience stand in right foreground; man riding horse trots from left to center in front of them; boy driving two-horse cart driving through grassy foreground in center; one-horse carriage with single driver in foreground left traveling towards intersection; man and woman walking the opposite direction. Left midground shows LIRR train pulling into the station labeled "L.I.R.R.", black smoke billowing from engine, six figures visible on the engine and first car of the train; two-and-a-half story station house with surrounding platform to the left of the train, labeled "Huntington", eight figures standing on the platform; to the right of the station house numerous vehicles, people, and horses mill around open plaza including two station wagons labeled "Huntington" and four additional carriages, one carrying two passengers; man and woman standing at intersection of tracks and road, man with cane on the road walking toward them; carriage house and attached stable behind the plaza labeled "Horses on Livery At All Hours", several carriages and horses standing in front; Northside House depicted to the right of the carriage house with stenciled signage designating G.F. Hobbs as owner, three-story mansard style structure with three dormers on each side and cupola, ten figures stand on and around the wraparound veranda; party of figures visible in midground to far right standing around benches in the distant woods; telegraph wires extend across several poles through the middle of the painting. Brushily painted treeline in background, light blue sky above with grey and white clouds throughout.
