Grand Panorama View from the Harbor Hill, Roslyn, L.I. Looking South
Watercolor and gouache on white paper depicting a wide angle panoramic view from the top of Harbor Hill looking South. Foreground consists of densely wooded forest with curving road looping through, several figures clustered at various points along the road partially visible through the trees, inset watercolor sketch of "The Tower at Harbor Hill" in the left corner. Midground depicts rolling hills of patchwork fields with occasional trees or structures throughout, railroad station and tracks on center right with train traveling away from the viewer. Background filled with more rolling hills that gradually flatten to the horizon line, two buildings with steeples silhouetted in center, sky is lightly pigmented with clouds outlined in grey wash, rainstorm or sunbeams passing across the landscape under the clouds highlighted by grey diagonal brushstrokes.
